2022 Review
Happy New Year’s Eve!
We made it through another year. My hands are tired, yet my heart is so full. Full of gratitude, full of inspiration, full of reflection, full of vigor, and full of optimism for 2023. My belly is also full of tamales (can’t stop, won’t stop).
A lot can happen in a year. Folded into 365 days are countless opportunities to learn and grow, to explore and experience the world within us and around us, to discover and rediscover our passions and our purpose, to nurture our relationships with the earth and each other, and to take ownership of writing our stories all along the way.
My story in 2022 was one of bravery and commitment. It was a year of following my heart and trusting myself to make bold decisions in my personal and professional life.
These decisions included many firsts like starting therapy, visiting México for the first time with my family, starting to write my first book, taking my first solo trip abroad since becoming a mom, and launching the Mujeres project. Other decisions involved painful lasts like saying goodbye to my first blog and leaving a job I loved.
It was a year of wins and losses, BIG feelings and small, but powerful revelations. It was a year of learning how to protect my energy, how to set boundaries, how to advocate for my wellbeing, and how to embrace failure and uncertainty as inevitable parts of growth.
As 2022 officially comes to an end, I want to say thank you. Thank you for being a part of Marble Mujer in its first full year of publication. To date, this baby blog has been visited over a thousand times by hundreds of unique readers. Readers like you and me who tell me that they feel seen here.
I want to especially thank the incredible women featured in Mujeres this year. Thank you for letting me into your world and trusting me with your stories.
More than ever I believe in the power of our authentic stories as a path to healing and reclaiming our wholeness. Within systems that try daily to erase and disempower us, our stories serve to remind us of who we are and remind us that we belong.
However you are celebrating the end of 2022, I wish you health, safety, and so much love.
Salud!
